What is traditional surrogacy?
In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother’s egg is used as the foundation of the pregnancy. The surrogate in this scenario has a genetic and biological link to the pregnancy she might carry.
What is gestational surrogacy?
A gestational surrogate has absolutely no genetic link to the baby she is carrying. The intended parents’ fertilized egg is transferred into the surrogate mother’s uterus, which has been prepared hormonally to carry a pregnancy.
What are the chances of success with surrogacy?
